Photoshop training for the virtual classroom

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

I love the way that people can connect over the Internet today. I have had many different types of learning experiences, from traditional classroom instruction to the newest elearning methods-and a taste of nearly everything in-between. I also have 15 years of experience teaching English as a foreign language in Mexico. And of all the teaching methods I have seen, I think that elearning holds the most potential as a system for Photoshop training.

When I first started hearing about virtual classrooms, I didn’t like the idea very much. In my mind I probably associated elearning with traditional distance learning programs like television and correspondence courses. I’m grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to find out how wrong I was. Most people react negatively to new ideas the first time they hear them. That seems to be a fairly universal product of our education and socialization. It’s a wonderful thing when we are able to break down the barriers that cause us to resist new ideas.

When I had my first opportunity to participate in elearning, I realized almost instantly that I had been very wrong in my opinions-it’s easy to see why now. I didn’t like traditional television courses because they were even less interactive than traditional classroom instruction-communication was one way, instructor to student, without any technology to allow students to ask the instructor questions during a class. And traditional correspondence courses were even more frustrating in the days when snail mail was the only mechanism to facilitate communication between instructors and students.

Once you begin to move beyond basic background information, you begin to realize that there’s more to Photoshop Training than you may have first thought.

The component that makes elearning so completely different from traditional distance learning systems is the interactivity that elearning not only allows, but encourages, empowers, and invites. Interactivity is the key element, the motor that drives the explosion in online training today. Students who are too timid to speak up in the traditional classroom environment now have in their hands a powerful tool for overcoming their shyness.

Another thing I love about elearning is that you have more freedom to practice what you’re learning. If you’re taking a Photoshop training course, for instance, your practice field is right at home on your computer.

As a teacher of English as a foreign language, I have always noticed that successful learners often learn as much from their classmates as they do from the teacher. I think that teachers in physical classrooms understand better today than ever before that connectedness in the classroom helps every student learn more. And now the Internet shows us how to take maximum advantage of the benefits of connecting to others-we can connect to anyone else in the world if the two of us have an Internet connection.

I’m excited about how elearning is changing the way we learn. If you’re an amateur photographer or videographer who wants to get more out of your photos and online videos, sign up for Photoshop training today and discover how elearning can help you be all that you can be.

Here’s a brief list of the most important new features that you’ll learn all about in your Photoshop training course:

Adobe Bridge: If you’re familiar with older versions of Photoshop, the first thing you’ll notice about Photoshop CS2 is the totally remodeled file browser, which is now called Adobe Bridge. Bridge is a stand-alone program, which means that it works for all Adobe applications-you can use it whether you’re in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or Acrobat. This is the control center that lets you navigate to your project files and applications. New Layers Palette: Photoshop CS2 has a new shortcut to select multiple layers.

Enhanced Information Palette: The palette now has much more information, more settings, and new tips.

New blur filters: Photoshop CS2 has surface, box, and shape blurs.

Vanishing Point: Photoshop CS2 has a powerful filter that lets users remove or add objects while keeping the design in perfect perspective. With Vanishing Point, users can paint, clone, and paste objects that automatically fall into perfect perspective with all surrounding elements.

Sometimes the most important aspects of a subject are not immediately obvious. Keep reading to get the complete picture.

Red Eye Tool: You can remove red eyes in your digital images by simply clicking on this tool.

Reduce Noise Filter: This new filter lets you remove noise from photographs to polish your photos like never before.

Smart Objects: This is a completely new type of layer that lets you modify objects in Photoshop CS2 without running the risk of destroying your files.

Image Warping: CS2 is the first version of Photoshop that lets you warp images-in previous versions, it was only possible to warp type. Now it’s possible to warp any selection, layer, or object.

Image-Ready Integration: Photoshop CS2 comes with its own animation palette. It’s now possible to create Internet-ready animations in Photoshop CS2.

Font Menu: Photoshop users were happy to hear about this innovation, which lets you see a type font displayed next to its name in the font menu.

Why you need Photoshop training – no matter what

Monday, July 5th, 2010

You should be able to find several indispensable facts about Photoshop Training in the following paragraphs. If there’s at least one fact you didn’t know before, imagine the difference it might make.

There is only one word to describe Adobe Photoshop-amazing. That is exactly the word I used the first time I saw graphic artists use Photoshop to edit and composite digital images for a feature-length animated film in 1995. I said it was amazing then, and it’s even more amazing today.

If you’re a student with a few elective credit hours to fill, enroll in Photoshop training at your school as soon as you can. It doesn’t matter if you’re not planning to pursue a career as a graphic designer. All professionals today, no matter what field they specialize in, can add tremendous power and value to their work by learning the fundamentals of image editing and compositing with Adobe Photoshop software.

You may be thinking to yourself, “I want to be a dentist-why should I go to the trouble of taking a Photoshop training course?” I’ll tell you why: Do an Internet search for “Photoshop” + “dentists.” That’s what I just did and I got over 100,000 hits telling me why dentists love Photoshop. No matter what field you’re working in or what career path you plan to pursue, there is a very high probability that Photoshop training will help you rise to the top of your profession in a way that no other software application can.

It’s really a good idea to probe a little deeper into the subject of Photoshop Training. What you learn may give you the confidence you need to venture into new areas.

I encourage you to do an Internet search for your specific career field, hobby, or area of interest. Are you an aspiring archaeologist? Thirty-five thousand hits. One site I visited is dedicated to assisting archaeologists in Central America and Mexico. They ask visitors to participate by donating computer equipment, software, cameras, and books on Meso-American archaeology. What software can they use? “Major software,” they say, “especially Adobe Photoshop.”
I don’t mean to belabor the point, but this is turning out to be fun. Let me challenge you just one last time. Think of the least plausible connection that comes to mind. What profession would you not expect to find many hits for if you typed it next to “Photoshop” in a search engine? Think of one profession on the planet in which practitioners have no practical application for Photoshop software. No need for Photoshop training. No reason to sign up for Photoshop training. I’m waiting for your answer… still waiting.

Could the answer be “hairdresser”? Not by a long shot-34,000 hits. I clicked on one of them. It turned out to be a customer review of Photoshop 6 written by a hairdresser in San Francisco. The hairdresser wrote that she was “thrilled with Photoshop 6.” And although I didn’t read far enough into the article to find out how she uses Photoshop in her particular profession, it doesn’t matter very much for my present purposes. Anyone who wants to establish an Internet presence for her business can build a more professional web site by learning Photoshop. Now that covers every career field.

Sign up today for Photoshop training. No matter what career field you’re in, Photoshop training can help you be all that you can be.

Now you can be a confident expert on Photoshop Training. OK, maybe not an expert. But you should have something to bring to the table next time you join a discussion on Photoshop Training.

Why everyone needs Photoshop training

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

When most people think of Photoshop Training, what comes to mind is usually basic information that’s not particularly interesting or beneficial. But there’s a lot more to Photoshop Training than just the basics.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 is the leading software in the world for digital image editing. If you’re new to Photoshop, you’ll be astonished at what a powerful tool it is. Professional photographers and graphic designers depend on Photoshop for creating the extraordinary results we have come to expect from modern digital imagining. One of the reasons that Photoshop has always been so popular is because its built-in adaptability allows professionals to customize Photoshop to work they way they want it to. Professionals know that ongoing Photoshop training is a key to their continuing success. And even photographers and graphic designers who have been working with Photoshop for ten or more years know that ongoing Photoshop training will allow them to reap the maximum benefits from this amazing tool.

Almost all novice photographers and designers have dappled in Photoshop, trying to learn as much as they can intuitively, clicking on things to see what they do until they find the function they’re looking for. And novices can quickly learn to do a lot of the basics by using this kind of “click and miss” method, because the Photoshop basics are easy to figure out. But there is just so much that Photoshop can do. Many novices learn to do a few basic operations and limit themselves to the skill level of a beginner. Without Photoshop training you simply can’t hope to unleash the power of this software.

Many novice users think they don’t need a professional tool like Photoshop. But when novices sign up for Photoshop training they are invariably amazed at how much they’re able to do, how quickly and easily they’re able to learn new things, and how they’re able to add value to their professional and personal projects. I think there is a little bit of the designer and photographer in all of us. When I first started playing around with Photoshop over 10 years ago, I thought it was something that only professionals needed to learn to use. But as I became more proficient with word processing and text editing, I wanted to learn how to improve my presentations. I was comfortable with Microsoft Office, so I naturally turned to Microsoft Publisher to handle my desktop publishing jobs.

Think about what you’ve read so far. Does it reinforce what you already know about Photoshop Training? Or was there something completely new? What about the remaining paragraphs?

I quickly discovered that Publisher let me get simple jobs done in a hurry-it’s a fine program as far as it goes. But when I compared what I was producing to what my friends were producing with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, I felt very dissatisfied. I wanted to learn to do what they were doing, even though I was never going to be a professional designer. I have never regretted the time, effort, and money I invested in learning Photoshop ten years ago.

I didn’t use Photoshop for the last six or seven years, and now I realize how much I’ve been missing. I’ve discovered that what was true then is even truer today-even if you’re not a professional designer, Photoshop training can change the way you work and the way you live. It gives you the power to add tremendous value to all your jobs.

Now might be a good time to write down the main points covered above. The act of putting it down on paper will help you remember what’s important about Photoshop Training.

How Photoshop training empowers Biblical scholars

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

This article explains a few things about Photoshop Training, and if you’re interested, then this is worth reading, because you can never tell what you don’t know.

Biblical scholars at the University of Southern California have been putting their Photoshop training to a surprising use-Photoshop is helping them analyze the Dead Sea Scrolls. The director of USC’s West Semitic Research Project (WSRP), Dr. Bruce Zuckerman, has said that Adobe Photoshop CS2 “is pivotal to our ability to unlock the history of the ancient past.”

This is not the first time that archaeologists have used their Photoshop training to combine fragments of ancient documents that are kept in museums and libraries in different parts of the world. Photoshop CS2 allows scholars and archaeologists to put these fragments together in the form of digital jigsaw puzzles, allowing researchers to study whole parchments or scrolls of papyrus for the first time.

Some of the original inscriptions are too small to be seen at all. Using Photoshop CS2, archaeologists are able to build larger composite images out of the smaller original images. And much original writing is impossible to see today because the ink has faded or the material on which it is written has become too dark. By using ultraviolet and infrared imaging techniques, researchers are able to recover the ink traces and read the original document.

Now that we’ve covered those aspects of Photoshop Training, let’s turn to some of the other factors that need to be considered.

As soon as Zuckerman’s team has a good photo of an ancient document, they scan it and digitally enhance it with Photoshop CS2. Think of the unlimited possibilities; once the image is digitalized and enhanced, it can be freely distributed and shared online with researchers and scholars around the world. It’s stunning to think what that means for the whole profession-there isn’t an archaeologist or Biblical scholar in the world today who doesn’t need advanced Photoshop training to reach their full potential.

The West Semitic Research Project at USC has published online tutorials for using Photoshop CS2 as a tool for scholarly research. This is a fascinating web page that introduces scholars to all the Photoshop fundamentals: how to use tools, how to reduce and enlarge images on screen, how to draw inscriptions with paths, how to paint paths, how to copy paths, and how to copy drawings.

Thanks to Adobe Photoshop CS2, archaeologists can now decipher documents that no one has been able to read for many hundreds of years. Even writings and inscriptions thought to have been deciphered and interpreted long ago are open for new investigation-scholars may start finding errors made in the original research by people working with hard-to-see inscriptions.

It is breathtaking to think about what this means-a single letter can change the way we view history. When I first started playing around with Photoshop in the early 1990s, I never would have thought that I had a tool in my hands that might one day change the way people understand themselves. What an exciting time to be alive-and Photoshop training makes it even more exciting. Sign up for Photoshop training today. No matter what field you’re in, Photoshop training is one of the best investments you’ll ever make.

Hopefully the sections above have contributed to your understanding of Photoshop Training. Share your new understanding about Photoshop Training with others. They’ll thank you for it.

How Photoshop training empowers people

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Everyone who works with images needs Photoshop training to get the most out of their photos and videos. If you’re a photographer, designer, or you work with any type of images at all, it’s time you found out how Photoshop training empowers both novices and professionals to achieve their full potential.

I’m a dedicated lifelong learner, but one of the gaps in my learning over the past ten years is in Photoshop. I’ve made a commitment to sign up for Photoshop training to get the most out of my web site and online graphics work. I’m not a design professional, but I have an urgent need to know how to do more with my photos and videos on the Internet.

I think that describes a lot of people today, no matter what field they work in. Sure, I could outsource the jobs-or choose not to do them at all. But here’s the real reason why I’m sold on Photoshop: Photoshop training stretches my creativity. It adds value to every area of my professional and personal life by lighting the creative flame that burns inside me. Photoshop training is one of the most professionally and personally rewarding investments you can make in yourself.

How can you put a limit on learning more? The next section may contain that one little bit of wisdom that changes everything.

Read testimonials of people who have benefited from a Photoshop training course. When you do this, you’ll understand what I’m talking about. You’ll find testimonials from retired people who wanted a stimulating and challenging hobby to help them stay busy. I read a testimonial on one site from a retired man so excited about using his new Photoshop skills to restore photographs that he’s planning to make a business out of it. Another man wrote that Photoshop training is increasing his skills so fast that he is already teaching new tricks to colleagues who are experienced Photoshop users.

Satisfied user after satisfied user: They all have the experience, and all of them are glad they signed up for Photoshop training. One of the testimonials captured the experience of all frustrated Photoshop novices who wake up one day with the solution right in front of their eyes-a Photoshop training course on their computer screen. This satisfied Photoshop learner remarked about the training course: “Why can’t I think of the solutions by myself?” That’s the way it is with all great teaching-the answers seem so simple when someone is there to give them to us.

Many Photoshop owners use the software for over a year without learning how to use most of the tools. As soon as they sign up for a Photoshop training course, they start seeing the difference in what they’re able to do. And they suddenly appreciate the full power of the investment they made in the Photoshop software, too-when you start learning how to get the most out of Photoshop, it can be worth its weight in gold. But you’ll never know until you sign up for Photoshop training.

Many Photoshop users spend a long time trying to do things the hard way. Make a commitment today to invest time and money in a Photoshop training course and discover the simple solutions you haven’t been able to think of by yourself.

It never hurts to be well-informed with the latest on Photoshop Training. Compare what you’ve learned here to future articles so that you can stay alert to changes in the area of Photoshop Training.
